Wahab Riaz was born on 28 th June 1985 in Lahore, Punjab. Riaz belongs to a Gujjar Family but his forefathers belong to a village near Gujarat Pakistan. Wahab Riaz family lived in Wapda town in Lahore. But Wahab’s family also has their old home near M.A.O College at Old Dhobi Ghat Lahore.

Wahab Riaz is a Pakistani cricketer, he is the left handed fast bowler and right handed batsman. Pakistani Best Wahab frequently bowls at the speed of around 90 miles per hour (140 km/h) and he has reached 154.5 km/h. Wahab Riaz is very aggressive in nature especially in the field.

In 2008, Wahab Riaz was selected in the One Day international squads to play against Zimbabwe and Bangladesh. Wahab scored 85 runs in a match against India and he also did really well bowl. Wahab continued to give his outstanding performances and due to his consistency in the series against South Africa, and also his good performances in New Zealand he became essential part of every game.

In October 2010 Pakistan played test series against South Africa, in this match series Wahab participated in the 4 th One Day internationals. The first test match Wahab took 2 wickets, both were leading players of South Africa, Graeme Smith and Hashim Amla. In this match Wahab just played only one day and he had an injury problem and he took 4-5 weeks to recover his issue and he missed the rest of the test match in the series.

In the 2011 Cricket World Cup, Wahab Riaz replaced Shoaib Akhtar, and Wahab performed really outstanding and he took 5 wickets. After the world cup Pakistani cricket team tour to West Indies for 2 Tests, 5 ODIs and a T20I. Riaz was included in the Pakistani cricket squads. In this tour Wahab took 2 wickets in the T20I and Pakistan lost this T20I. Wahab played 4 out of 5 ODIs and he took seven wickets and he finished the match as Pakistan’s leading wicket-taker in the series.

In May Pakistani cricket team toured to Ireland for a two-match One Day International series and Wahab Riaz was included in the squads but he did not play any match.

Wahab Riaz made his T20 debut for Kent on 11 June against Glamorgan. Wahab took just one wicket of Chris Cooke, Wahab also made 32 runs not out, in this match his team won and he hit the winning runs. On his home debut Wahab took a hat-trick by dismissing Chris Taylor, Ed Young and Richard Coughtrie with recording figures of 5 wickets just for 17 runs against Gloucestershire to support and help his team to an 8 wicket victory. This was the 2 nd time a player had taken a T20 hat-trick for the Kent, and was the 1 st time Wahab Riaz took 5 wickets in the format, he was beating previous bowling figures of 3/14. During Riaz’s spell with Kent he took thirteen first class wickets with an average of 33.53, 9 wickets in list A cricket at an average of 13.33 and 20 wickets at an average of 19.85 in T20 matches.

When Pakistan toured to Zimbabwe in the month of September, Wahab was rested, the decision has taken from the selectors for the purpose to give the chance to the new and inexperienced cricketers. Although Riaz was recall to the Test squad for the 3 match series against Sri Lanka, Wahab did not play in this series and was also dropped from the One Day Internationals squad to face the same opponents.

Riaz was recalled to Pakistan’s Test squad to play against England for three matches in the UAE, but he was out of the side, Wahab played for the National Bank of Pakistan in the Quaid-e- Azam Trophy.

Wahab Riaz has not been consistent enough with his performances and Wahab has gone down the pecking order with the emergence of Mohammad Irfan and Juniad Kan. Wahab lost out on his position in the Test side and played a match in 2010 May. In 2014 Riaz made a successful return to the Tests as he picked up 6 wickets in the match against Sri Lanka.

Wahab made a return though, for the New Zealand One Day international series, but didn’t have the best of outings in the three matches that he played.

In 2015 World Cup quarter final against Australia Riaz bowled a very aggressive spell. Wahab showed some aggressive interaction by sarcastic clapping and flying kiss to the Australian cricketer Shane Watson. ICC fined Wahab Riaz for the attitude.
